4 Sure Ways to Benefit From eBay

February 28th, 2009

eBay has become a household name in the last decade. It has been the main force of the shop from home lifestyle. It’s hard to be too critical as people can now enjoy online browsing and shopping at the click of their mouse.

Teamwork is one way to profit from eBay. The power of synergy can be used when 2 or more brains combine to work toward a common goal. At first the team may only be researching deals on the eBay sites. It may take time but if there is a joint effort, then it will be easier to find good deals and buying and selling at a profit will become a formality.

Different eBay sites should be analyzed to find differences in the prices of popular goods. For example, there’s an eBay Canada and an eBay Australia, and the difference in prices between these are often different on some items. It’s a very simple way to make some savings on eBay. Why pay the high price if there’s a lower price around the corner. Since it’s all online, there is no difference in buying from Canada or buying from Australia. That’s the beauty of the web.

Making a space in the house for items that are picked up on travels, or low price items just happened to have come across. If a person opens an eBay account he/she will be able to put up almost any item for sale. If the items are of good quality, there’s sure to be a market.

Research and find out what the hot products are, and what people are looking for. It’s the safest way to ensure a market for products, and it is better to have a plan of action, backed up with research.

Entrepreneur Opportunities Online – eBay Stores Put the Spotlight on Your Bank Account

February 28th, 2009

Of all the entrepreneur opportunities online selling on eBay is perhaps one of the best known. If you are already making a good income selling your products on eBay you may wonder if opening an eBay store would increase your profits, this is a question many power sellers have asked themselves, and the answer is not a simple one.

If you sell large quantities of the same item or sell high volumes of similar items then opening an eBay store makes sense for you. An eBay store allows you to keep an item listed for months rather than for the normal 7 day auctions, it also allows you to sell multiples of the same items with just one listing which will definitely save you time and money.

eBay charges a flat fee for your store regardless of how many items you list in it or have in stock, of course you will still pay for listing just like normal auctions but you pay a smaller listing fee for a longer period. Your extras such as gallery pictures are very reasonable, and the only real drawback is that your final fee at sale is higher than normal auctions. There is one exception to this though, if you drive your traffic to eBay from an outside source, you can get many of your fees greatly reduced.

If you decided that an eBay store is for you, setting one up is pretty simple, your hardest decision will be which package to choose, unless you sell or anticipate selling a huge volume of items, start with the basic package, you can always upgrade later. Be sure to choose your store name carefully since you cannot change this later, be mindful of what you are selling and what you think people will be typing into the search function when searching for your items.

Once you have your store you will need a template, you can use the default template, design your own or have one made for you. Many sellers are happy with the default template so it might be best to use that till you can afford to purchase a custom made one.

Driving traffic to your eBay store can happen in a variety of ways, by listing normal auctions in eBay, or another tactic being used by many power sellers is to have their own website linking to their eBay store.

Opening an eBay store is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs, so if you are already selling on eBay and want to increase your profits then this might be the next step for you.

Two Surefire Ways to Make Money Through Dropshipping

February 21st, 2009

Track your suppliers!

If you really want to promote your site, don’t let your suppliers do all the work for you. Volunteer to do the packaging of your products, since this will allow you to insert money-off vouchers and promotional flyers in the packaging. Also, you need to monitor your suppliers constantly even though they live far from you, since they are the ones who sort of deals with your customers. eBay powersellers made use of three secrets to online business before they attained their status right now. These are knowing what sells and what doesn’t, utilizing dropshipping services, and researching about the target market and what they want to buy.

Dropshipping is defined as a hassle-free way of shipping orders that are in bulk, because it ships directly from the wholesaler to the customer. In other words, there is no middleman involved. Retailers largely benefit from this practice because it makes customer transactions smooth-flowing. Instead of storing lots of stocks for a certain product inside the house, retailers utilize the services of dropshipping companies so that they don’t have to restock over and over again. Your profits will come from the price that you charge your customers. In order to sell through dropshipping, you first have to decide which item you are going to sell. Afterwards, you list that item in an auction, where it will be sold at a certain period of time. The winner then pays you after the item is sold in the auction. The profit that you earn is the buying price minus the selling price. What people love about dropshipping is the fact that you can take your business anywhere, as long as you have access to the internet.

Dropshipping is also something that you can do part time. You can just manage it during your free time as it does not take too much time in a day. However, you will to pay for additional costs and eBay charges, and your profits will be small but sure. If you want your dropshipping company to do the packaging for you, they can do so as long as you send them your store label so that they could pack it with the customer’s item.

Discovering Dropshipping

A dropshipper sells items at wholesale rates, and he is also the one who ships the items directly to the purchaser. In dropshipping, the supplier does all the business. As for your part, you only need to focus on your sales techniques and strategies, so that you can better promote your items and attract more customers.

The thing here is to invest wisely. You need to research on the products that sell and avoid those that do not sell. You also need to know the competition in eBay. If there are more than 5 retailers who are selling the same item, abandon that product and find another one. However, if these 5 retailers sell through auctions, you can still sell the same item provided you sell it under the ‘buy it now’ option.

Get More eBay Traffic to Your Auctions!

February 21st, 2009

With so many buyers on eBay everyday (it’s approaching the billions worldwide); you probably think that it’s a gold mine for anyone wanting to sell something. Awesome huh, just put up your auction and wait for the cash to roll in.

Hang on a second Sunshine; it isn’t quite as easy as putting up an auction and hoping for the best. I only wish it were that simple. That’s why you see some people, selling the exact same thing, but earn more money than others. So how do they do it?

Well it all comes down to traffic. Traffic to your eBay auction really is the key to making money on eBay – I mean it makes sense doesn’t it – the more eyeballs on your listing the more chance you have of getting a few people bidding on it, and then if they get into a bidding war and the price starts rising – ahhh good times – then you can start counting your coins.

So this article will give you a few tips on how to get more traffic to your eBay auction.

Let’s start with something that will only take you a few seconds to set up – your email signature. How many emails do you send in a day – 10, 20, 100? What if only 10% of people that saw your email signature viewed your ad – that’s an extra 1, 2 or 10 people per day that you could have potentially bidding on your item. Just a quick line like “Regards, Joe Smith, Check out my eBay auction – [link]” is quite fine for an email signature and enough to get a few people curious as to what you are selling.

Too simple? Ok, let’s look at something else you can do. Do you have more than one listing? Then you are cross-listing them I hope – aren’t you? That’s where on every listing you have, you can have a link to every other thing you are selling on eBay. eBay allows you to link to any other page inside it’s site so take advantage of it.

It’ll get people looking at everything you have for sale, and they just might find that perfect thing they were after and bid.

Want even more traffic tips? Then you’d better go and check out http://www.auction-traffic-formula.com – this cool little guide will have you amazed at the amount of ways you can find more people to visit your eBay auction.

Finding the top selling items on eBay is not easy for some, but it is a necessary function for successful sellers. This is because the way to attract buyers online is to offer the products they are searching for and make those products available to buyers.

The usual best sellers are videogame systems and videogames, especially the newest on the market, any other new technological products, the latest cell phones and smart phones, computer products, and designer clothing and accessories. Keeping Your eBay Business’s Feedback Private

January 13th, 2009

Your feedback on eBay is an essential part of your reputation as a seller. Your feedback profile helps your bidders develop confidence in you, and gives them a reason to trust you when they purchase from you. In most cases, keeping your feedback public is the best course of action, especially if you haven’t built up a name for yourself on eBay yet. But, there may be times when you need to keep your feedback private, and you do have a method of doing so.

To mark your feedback profile as private, log into eBay, and visit the site map at the top right-hand side of any eBay page. You will see an option to “make feedback public or private.” Click this link, and you will be taken to the feedback section of your profile. Choose the privacy option, and save your settings. Your feedback should now be marked as private. Your rating will still be available, but no one will be able to see what comments have been left in your feedback section.

There are a few things to remember about marking your feedback for privacy before you decide whether or not to do it. For starters, you cannot sell any new items while your feedback is set for privacy. Any items that you currently have listed will continue to stay listed throughout the pre-determined length of your auctions, but you will not be able to list anymore items until your feedback is public again. You can, however, continue to buy items while your feedback is private.

Marking your feedback as private can also cause buyers and sellers alike to lose confidence in you. They may wonder why it is that you have marked your feedback as private, and possibly think that you have done something irresponsible as a seller or buyer. This could cause them to refrain from doing further business with you. You may want to consider explaining the reason why you have marked your feedback as private on your about me page for clarification purposes.

A reason for wanting to mark your feedback as private may be because you received malicious feedback, or feedback that is against the terms of service that needs to be removed. If your personal information is listed in a feedback comment, or a racial slur or other offensive material is seen on your feedback profile, marking it as private is definitely a good idea to do until eBay’s representatives have had a chance to review the situation and can remove it for you.

Receiving negative feedback is not really a reason to mark your feedback as private. Yes, negative feedback can be frustrating, but it’s not the end of the world, and it doesn’t mean you are going to lose all of your business. Buyers understand that sellers will get the occasional unhappy customer, and unless you have a string of negatives from different buyers in a row, your reputation should be fine.

When Things Go Wrong – How to Resolve eBay Disputes

January 13th, 2009

eBay has quite an complex and tedious dispute resolving process. In this article, I will attempt to break each stage down for you, so you are able to see what’s enclosed and how long it takes.

As an object lesson, let’s go through what you’d do if you paid for a product but did not get it from the vender.

Before you open a dispute: afford the vendor an opportunity to send the product before you get ahead of yourself and open a dispute. If you are worried about how long the product is taking to come, the 1st thing you should do is send a civilized e-mail to the vendor stating that you have not obtained it and inquiring whether they’ve mailed it. You should in addition to check your own e-mail address in eBay’s options, to be sure that the vendor can respond to you. As a last resort prior to beginning a dispute, you should attempt to phone the vendor on the number eBay has for them. You may have to pay long-distance charges for the phone call, but that’s more beneficial than dragging the auction through interpretation for months.

Stage 1 – You begin an Item Not Received dispute.

All your required to do is enter the product number and state that you didn’t obtain the item.

Stage 2 – eBay contacts the vendor: eBay sends the vendor an e-mail that tells them that you have stated you did not obtain the item. They can then decide to tell you one of three things: that your payment has not cleared thus far, that the product is in the mail, or that they will give you your money back. The vendor can in addition to tell eBay that they’d like to send you a message.

Stage 3 – You speak to the vendor: You attempt to figure out what’s occurred directly with the vendor, sending messages back and forward. Hopefully they will agree to afford you a refund for the interest of their feedback, or your product will show up in the mail during this time.

Stage 4 – ending the dispute: After thirty days (or ten days if the vendor did not reply), you’ve two choices to end the dispute: either you were content or you were not. If you weren’t content, then you can claim under eBay’s purchase protection program for up to $200.

Independent Dispute Mediation.

If you do not wish to undergo eBay’s own procedure, and particularly if the auction was for a high-value product, then you are able to use a third-party intermediary. eBay recommend SquareTrade, at www.squaretrade.com, who offer mediation to a lot of sites wherever there are buyers and vendors. They’ll contact the vendor on your behalf and then liaise as you negotiate what to do from there.

Vendors who are committed to going through SquareTrade’s mediation for any conflicts can sign up to exhibit the ‘SquareTrade seal’ on their auctions. This affords their buyers $250 fraud security, and shows that their identity has been severally proven so they’re who they say they are.

Advantages and Disadvantages of eBay Dropshipping

January 13th, 2009

There are quite a few sellers who choose to use eBay dropshipping as a way of selling.

This involves forming a relationship with a company that is prepared to ship out their products, directly to the customer on your instruction.

This means that you do not have to keep any products in stock as they will do that for you.

You also do not have to keep packaging materials in stock or worry about wrapping up items and dispatching them – either staying in for a pick up or taking them to the post office.

These advantages certainly make eBay dropshipping sound like an easy option for selling things on eBay.

There is no doubt that it is easier than having to do all of these jobs yourself and a great option for anyone who is thinking of making some extra money in their spare time and so do not have a lot of time to commit to it.

However, there are some disadvantages. Firstly there could be a problem if the company runs out of stock and have nothing to send to your customers.

They may not send them out very quickly or may not package them up very well.

All of these problems could lead to customer dissatisfaction and could affect your eBay feedback and your reputation.

It is therefore very important to use a company which you can trust. You will also find that by using a dropshipping company you will be restricted on what stock you can sell.

Obviously you will only be able to supply your customers with what the company can provide you with, whereas if you source stock yourself, you might be able to have a larger range of items.

When deciding whether to use a dropshipping company you have to make a risk assessment, are you prepared to risk using another company to do some of the work for you in exchange for you having more free time?

You will also need to bear in mind that it is likely that your profit margins will be lower as the stock will be more expensive as you are also paying for the services of the eBay dropshipping company and with the current economic situation and money being tight for everyone, you may find that your customers cannot afford to pay that much for the items that you are selling.

Also if there are cheaper sellers, you may find that you just cannot compete with them.
